Little Richard's BBQ was founded in 1991 by Nick Karagiorgis and Gary Sizemore at the original location on Country Club Road in Winston-Salem. Later they took on a partner, Richard Berrier, and then left the Winston-Salem location to expand to a new location in Clemmons. Today, the Little Richard’s BBQ restaurant family has grown to and is comprised of four locations (Clemmons, Yadkinville, Mt. Airy and Walkertown), all of which are family owned and operated by members of the first and second generations of the Karagiorgis family. 

At Little Richard's BBQ, we are dedicated to maintaining and preserving the the great North Carolina BBQ tradition.  Our fresh pork shoulders are hickory smoked for sixteen hours "the old fashioned way." Our authentic Lexington-style recipes have been handed down for generations and will always stay true to their North Carolina roots.

Few people will deny that North Carolina is the BBQ capital of the South. While there are many delicious places in the Piedmont area to eat barbecue, Little Richard's BBQ remains at the top of everyone's list. The reason is very simple:  Nick Karagiorgis (owner) and his staff smoke whole pork shoulders for 16 hours at a low temperature with heat and smoke from hickory hardwood. From there, the meat is enhanced to perfection by drizzling our homemade Lexington-style BBQ sauce, known as "dip," that is to die for.

 If you want a little taste of heaven, you'll see how it's done at Little Richard's! Meat is pulled fresh off the smoked shoulders and taken straight to the chopping block. From there, we make sure to top it off with our famous Lexington "dip" before it leaves the kitchen, ensuring that it arrives to your table moist and delicious.  These components in combination with our knowledgeable staff, excellent service and a warm atmosphere make you feel like you are back home in momma's kitchen.

Our recipes have been passed down for generations and that's our real secret. Over time, we have continued to add various smoked meats and sauces to our menu, providing a unique BBQ experience for everyone who comes by. Thank you for taking time to read our story.
